Rap and
Hip-hop Music

I am covering rap/hip-hop music. 2016 was a great year for music. A ton of big name artists made albums that made people go crazy. All streaming platforms were playing all these new songs for the people. Big name producers and people with power in the music industry were taking any chance they took to get interviews with the artists that made these albums. The music fanatics were just desperate to get the inside scoops of what the artists were doing.
Rap and hip-hop music are some of the most popular forms of music in the world. Everyone from young kids to adults love these genres of music. Music impacts the world no matter what. It always has. Music has been around forever and it has been a way for people to express themselves. The music industry is all marketing. The way that artists will leak little pieces of their new songs to get people pumped up for the new albums is marketing.

Article 1: Rap Music
Rap music has always been a way for people to connect. Rap music originated with the big name rap groups such as N.W.A. and many others. It was a way for people in the hood and not so good areas to connect with one another. Kids grew up listening to those guys and looked up to them as idols because that's all they knew growing up. The young kids that grow up on the streets and live a hard lifestyle feel like they have pretty much been raised by the music these guys were making. Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E,  Arabian Prince, MC Ren, DJ Yella. These guys made history in the music industry. Rappers such as YG, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye, etc.. These artists all made history and have a huge impact in the music industry.

Article 2: Hip-hop
Artists such as Kanye, SchoolBoyQ, Drake, Kevin Gates, Travis Scott, Bryson Tiller, etc.. make history as well as the rap artists. Yes these artists do produce rap music but the new style tracks with their new flow makes it more hip hop and completely different from hard rap music. New artists such as 21 savage, Kodak Black, Lil yachty, Lil Uzi vert. These new and upcoming artists have sky rocketed to the top of the music world with their music. Catchy lyrics with a track that has lots of bass can make any rap/hip-hop listener dance and sing along.

Article 3: Marketing
The music industry is all marketing, the whole business is all marketing. The way the artists and producers work together to put the songs out there for the world, along with promoting the new albums or tracks by putting out sneak peeks / previews of the songs. Different types of companies and radio stations promote these artists and those artists are the ones making the profit from it. It's one big circle of promotion after promotion. Everyone in the music world works together.

Article 4: Economics
What you put into the economy is what you get out. As an artist, they are putting money into the economy by releasing albums and in return they make profit of the popularity of their new releases. In music videos, a rapper or artist will promote a product that will produce a profit for a sponsor that's paying them to advertise their company. Artists, especially rap and hip-hop artists will make excessive amounts of money by launching their new music on the radio, and on the various types of social media platforms used today.

Article 5: Social Media
YouTube, Soundcloud, Spotify, Instagram, and Snapchat all help get the new upcoming artists known to the public. Social media is a great way to promote yourself and connect with people around the world. Everyone is on all the social media platforms either just for the sake of having it or they are trying to promote themselves, they have a business and they need to promote they will go to the big pages with a huge following and leave comments. Everyone knows what's going on in the world because of social media. Social media is bigger than TV and the actual news itself.

Fun Games

I played flappy birds on the website that was on the class blog page. I programmed how the bird would move and what sounds he would make. Also could change how the background looked and what type of character instead of the bird you could be. The game is really repetitive but one of those addicting games that you can't stop playing. I beat all the levels that there were to play. I spent about 20 minutes on the game just messing around with all the features.

Apprentice Season 2

Apprentice Season 2: Episode 6 : Crimes of Fashion

1.) This episode's task was to manage a new modeling agencies and make a new clothing line and who ever makes the most money wins.
2.) Team Mosaic Project Manager - John
Team Apex Project Manager - Maria
3.) Team Apex won. Prize: A celebrity party with Cirque du Soleil
4.) Who was taken to the board room - John, Kevin, Andy
5.) John Willenborg – for making too many mistakes, including choosing a bad designer, not being involved in the pricing decisions
6.) I liked this episode because it showed how fashion is a really difficult craft to get into. There are so many steps to designing and producing clothing and I think that is what made it so interesting, just seeing all the work you have to put in.
7.) The Business lesson for this episode to me is that it takes hard work and a lot of planning into any form of business.

Special Thanksgiving Event - Faneuil Hall Marketplace

A Thanksgiving event that I found in Boston is in the Faneuil Hall marketplace tree lighting. People come from all over to Boston but seeing Faneuil Hall with the trees all lit up is just amazing. Especially at night time where the trees just glow and everyone is happy. The vibe you get while walking through Faneuil Hall marketplace at night time with your friends or loved ones is an amazing feeling. The lights go up in November ans stay up throughout the rest of November and throughout all of December.
